Déroule le rebord pour gagner!

Much like McDonald's back east, there are at least two Tim Hortons restaurants on every square mile of the grid out here. The coffee is quite good, not as strong as I'd like but tasty nonetheless. It is common here to order them as a "double-double", which is two creams and two sugars. The result is more like melted coffee-flavored ice cream than regular coffee... probably closer to 4 or 5 cream and sugars. Mmmnnh.
I won a free cup in their current sweepstakes: RRRRoll up the Rim to Win - you have to peel up the cup rim with your teeth to get the prize. Then you end up buying more coffee to rinse the wax off your teeth that you got checking the prize. Then you check the prize and the cycle repeats. Quite clever marketing strategies are developed at Timmy Ho's.

Josh was off yesterday and we did some hiking on Mt. Finlayson across the bay from the Saanich Penninsula. We were trying to get to the summit (about 1200 ft. vertical) but took a wrong turn. We ended up at a pretty cool spot regardless. Afterward we were treated to a swell roasted chicken dinner at Josh's girlfriend's house.

Today Josh worked and so did I. Rained all day anyway. On stupid patch, not smoking, stupid patch. I'm already leaving Canada tomorrow evening, off to Seattle to catch the next train on Thursday morning.

Brother Josh is working.

I always liked watching Josh work... I often still do it in my mind.
